UK, GREAT BRITAIN, ENGLAND??

Many people wonder what the difference between Great Britain and the United Kingdom is. Some people get mixed up with the names and may use the name England when they want to refer to the UK.
The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (yes, that´s the official name) is a country made up of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. These were once separate countries but have been united since 1801.

THE UNITED KINGDOM

Great Britain comprises only Scotland, Wales and England, though we can generally hear the country referred to just as "Britain".

GREAT BRITAIN
