T.S. ELIOT (1888-1965)

Thomas Stearns Eliot is considered by many as the most important English-language poet of the 20th century. Although he was born in the USA, he moved to the UK when he was 25 years old and was was naturalised as a British subject a few years later.
His most famous poem is called "The Waste Land", which was publishe in 1922 and made him the most respected avant-garde writer of his day.
