David Herbert Richards Lawrence was an English novelist, poet, playwright, essayist, literary critic and painter. He wrote novels like The White Peacock or Sons and Lovers but his best-known one is Lady Chatterly´s Lover. It tells of the love affair between a wealthy, married woman, and a man who works for her husband. The book was banned for a time in both UK and the US as pornographic.
