ROSA PARKS (1913-2005)

Rosa Parks was an African-American civil rights activist, whom the US called "the mother of the freedom movement".
She became famous because in 1955 Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat in the colored section of the bus to a white passenger, after the white section was filled. This happened in Montgomery, Alabama, and though Rosa Parks wasn´t the first person to resist bus segregation she became a symbol for the Civil Rights Movement and an inspiration for the Montgomery Bus Boycott.
